More Norns and making the second generation.

We begin with Kelly sleeping peacefully at the island. Both she and Trevor had alredy reached adulthood. You know what that means? Making eggs, of course! However, she didn't want to leave the island, so a better idea would be to bring the males to her. Wait, did I just say males?
Yes, I did! There are new Norns to meet for us! The PMN is Albert, the Horse is Felix and the Banana is Daisy. Note that I won't blog EVERYTHING, but you'll get to know these guys soon.
And this is Lily, the youngest of all the new Norns. She stayed in the computer room trying to learn things and eating whatever I brought to her. I really like how she looks like an "inverse" Kelly.
Trevor was in the garden, far away from other Norns that would distract him and thus the only choice that would actually listen. However I don't think he really liked the idea, as he alaways turned to walk in the other direction when we were about to reach the submarine.
When I finally got Trevor to the island, Kelly had unafortunately left it, but it was easy to get the two thogether. I left the two to do their things while I checked on the others. Albert in the island with Shrek, Felix playing with the jungle's elevator... Not much interesting things, really.
Lily had stayed alone in the computer room for a while, preferring the lonley life. Daisy had found the little Norn and was very interested in her. The two went down the lift, Lily finally leaving the room., altrough they didn't stray far from the kitchen or eachother.
A special little icon appareared next to Kelly's name in the Obvservation Kit. She was finally pregnant! Usually male Norns leave after kisspopping, but Trevor stayed with her until she laid her egg, a shiny spotty blue one that was soon put dormant once it grew big enough. For now, I won't let the second generation eggs hatch, but maybe I'll hatch one or two when the Nornsbecome old and start dying. It's gonna be a bit sad, but it works for me.

Two new creatures.

Kelly had alredy become a child and my "time span" between hatching Norns is of 20 minutes, so it was time for a new Norn to arrive.
A handsome little Pixie named Trevor was the result! He was born with a big smile and flew right to the kitchen. He was quite obsessed with a honey jar and pushing the Encyclopedia Nornica books and he often put the honey down then picked it up again for no reason at all. Norns aren't very easy to comphrend.
The other creature introduced into Albia was not a Norn, but a Grendel. Meet Shrek! Unsurprisingly, I found him in the island, which is where most Grendels usually end up. We played with the ball for a bit and I gave him a few carrots, which he happily ate. Hopefully, he will be proof of that Grendels are just reptile like-Norns and not the monsters that everyone says they are.
Little Trevor and Kelly met first in the garden, altrough they were more interested in the ball than eachother. When they noticed the other existed, Trevor was happy to know he wasn't the only Norn in Albia, but I can't say the same about Kelly, who slapped him for a bit and then ran off despite his attempents to make friends. I guess some are just luckier than others when it comes to socializing.

The first Norn.

It was finally time for a Norn to enter the world. Out of six little eggs, the bright red one was choosen and I was excited to know who would come out of it as it begun to hatch in the incubator.
The surprise was a very pretty one! This is Kelly, a Forest/Horse Norn. At first, she didn't want to move once she hatched, but after being given a bit of time she went to the kitchen area.
After eating some cheese, Kelly just laid down next to the fire and listened quietly as the books worked their magic on her. She still didn't want to do much, but the big bouncy ball caught her attention as soon as she saw it! It soon lead Kelly to the garden, but she didn't stay there for long and headed out to the temple.
Kelly played the piano and stood in a weirdy position until a while after the music stopped. One time was enough for her, and so she returned to the garden. In there she begun plucking out the Happy Pink Flowers' flowers and eating tons of herbs and lemons. She even tasted one of the weeds but it didn't do much. So far, Kelly's taking good care of herself and I hope she leads a long and happy life.

Setting up Albia

This is the list of the COBs I'll use:

Happy Pink Flowers, Mugug Fruit, Radishes, Bliumea and Rodirea: Plants, a vegetable and a fruit that will serve as extra food sources. The Bliumea and Rodirea bloom in  the cave area beneath the island and the underground area next to the hootch tank respectively, so it won't be necessary to bring food to any creatures in these places. These will bring a pretty splash of color into Albia too! The Happy Pink Flowers, Mugug Fruit, Bliumea and Rodirea can be downloaded at Jessi's COBs, all of them by Jessi. The Radishes are downloadable at Creatures Caves and are by Mioonktoo.

Upd. Grendel and Upd. Baby male Banana Norn sprites: Made by Jessica, those files will fix att and sprite errors in Grendels and baby male Banana Norns. Both are downloadable at Discover Albia.

Multiple Grendel Selector, Grendel Pre-Sexer and Grendel Friendly: Grendel Friendly will make Grendels able to tickle and kiss creatures and allows them to breed if they have reproductive organs, altrough for now I'll use the regular Grendels, Multiple Grendel Selector will (Surprise surprise!) select a Grendel and Grendel Pre-Sexer will make the Grendels from the Grendel Mother come out as males or females. Hosted at Norntropolis.

Updated C1 Genetics: Allow creatures to die of old age and removes the gene that turns Anti-oxidants into aging. It also allows mixed Forest and Ron Norns to come out of the Hatchery. You can  get it at Creatures Caves.

24 Creature Incubator Patch and 24 Creature Population Patch: The maximum of creatures that you can have in Albia is 12, and the incubator closes if there are 8 or more creatures. This COB sets the population and incubator limit to 24, but the Obvservation Kit will crash if you have 18 or more creatures. Downloadable at TreeSprite's Grove.

Encyclopedia Nornica: Five books that when clicked will teach any creature in earshot range all the existing words except the creature's name. Mostly using it because I'm more used to Docking Station's way to teach words and because teaching creatures is a bit hard. Also downloadable at Treesprite's Grove.

... I hope I haven't forgotten anything.

Starting a C1 World.

Thanks to being inspired by other blogs and wanting to do this, I have made Creatures Around Albia!
I am a "late bloomer" in the Creatures fandom, due to finding it in 2012 and so, the only way to get any Creatures games was via GOG.com. Good thing these games work on Windows 7!
Here, we'll see the adventures and experiences of the Norns that will populate my world, which has alredy been set up. I also have C3/DS and C2, which might be installed someday. New to the community? Been in it for a long time? It doesn't really matter. What matters is enjoying it!
